Welcome to the website of Calvary Baptist Church! I’m excited that you’ve taken a few minutes to learn more about our ministries and how we can help you grow spiritually. My wife, Rachel, and I would love to have you visit with us as we seek to see people come to know Christ and encourage believers in their walk with the Lord.

To tell you a little about myself—I was born and raised in Spotsylvania County and grew up attending a Baptist church. I was saved at the age of thirteen. At that time, I might have been considered a “good kid,” but even though I was in church, I was still lost without Christ. I thank God for how He used a teen camp in my life to draw me to Himself.

After my salvation, I continued faithfully in my home church, and at the age of seventeen, I surrendered to preach. God then led me to Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN, where I studied for the ministry. While attending Bible college, I met my wife, Rachel.

Upon graduation, I returned home to Spotsylvania and began serving at Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ron Owens. After interning there for about five years, Rachel and I began a church plant in Mechanicsville, VA. The Lord did wonderful things during that season of our lives and in the lives of many people we were privileged to meet. In His perfect timing, God then opened the door for us to return home to Spotsylvania and to Calvary Baptist Church. In August of 2017, I was voted in as pastor. I am so thankful for the privilege of serving this church and confident that God has wonderful things in store for us!

We are excited to be a part of this wonderful church family. We joined the staff in November of 2023 and are praying that the Lord will continue to bless as we serve Him here.

We’d like to start by sharing a brief testimony of our lives.

We were married in 2018 at Smoky Valley Baptist Church in Lindsborg, Kansas.

My wife, Reba, was saved in 2018 at a church in Mississippi while we were serving there for about a year. I was saved in 2012 at the age of 17 during a Jubilee meeting that my dad hosted in Indiana. After that, we spent a few years traveling in evangelism. During that time, the Lord began working in our hearts about settling down and serving in a local church.

The Lord has richly blessed our family with opportunities to serve in many different capacities — from youth ministries to music ministries and more. We are honored to be a part of the Calvary Baptist Church family.

We hope you’ll consider joining us this Sunday. My wife and I would love to have you sit with us as we worship the Lord through singing, testimonies, and the preaching of the Word of God.
